Raphael enters his fourth season as a coach for the Vikings. It will be his first season as a Graduate Assistant Coach. Raphael graduated from Grand View at the spring of 2019. He was part of the men’s volleyball program at Grand View University for four years. During these four years, he collected four conference titles, two national championship runner-up and one national title for the Vikings. Raphael also collected some individual achievements such as Conference Tournament Team on his freshman year and the Champions of Character award during his junior and senior year. Raphael came from Brazil during August of 2015. During his four years as a student at Grand View University, Raphael was part of two different student leadership teams. Holding a position of Vice President of the Residential Experience Council for his last two years as a student, Raphael was able to extend his leadership and help the Grand View Community. At the end of his senior year, he was recognized as the Most Inspiring Student Leader of that year. On his sophomore year, Raphael started student coaching for the Women’s Volleyball program. During his first year, he was part of a team of three student coaches who ran the Junior Varsity program and also assisted the Varsity team. During his second season as a student coach, Raphael took the position of Student Head Coach of the Junior Varsity Program, while also assisting the Varsity team. Starting his fourth season, Raphael will have responsibilities on both Junior Varsity and Varsity programs.
